The Bass Cottage
Inn is both central and serene, a private retreat located
in the heart of Bar Harbor, in a field overlooking Frenchman
Bay. Guests are treated to a rare blend of luxury and ease.
The Inn was built in 1885 during Bar Harbor's Golden Age and purchased soon after by the Bass family as a summer "cottage." Like many visitors during that era, they came to escape the summer heat of the city, to enjoy the calm forests and salt air of Acadia. Today, The Bass Cottage Inn—Bar Harbor’s oldest continuously operating inn—welcomes guests who come to Bar Harbor for exactly the same reasons the Bass family did almost 120 years ago. |
