Teri and Jeffrey Anderholm are your welcoming hosts at the Bass Cottage Inn. After their first visit to Mount Desert Island in 1990, they began to daydream about owning an inn there themselves.
Dreams became reality in 2003 when they bought the old “Bass Cottage in The Field” property and saved a Bar Harbor landmark from the wrecking ball. They left behind their corporate jobs in the Boston area to create Bar Harbor’s premier luxury inn. Decorated top to bottom by Teri and Jeff, each room at the Inn reflects a casual, tasteful elegance.
Among her many talents, Teri is a culinary school graduate and oversees the menu at the Inn. Jeff oversees guest services so that you are ensured of a gracious welcome and thoroughly enchanting stay.
Your hosts keep notes on hotels and inns worldwide whenever they travel. The best of the best — plus unique touches of their own — are yours to enjoy at the Bass Cottage Inn.
“The Bass Cottage Inn was just as good as the rave reviews we had read before we booked. This is inn hospitality at its best by people who clearly take justifiable pride.”
Tripadvisor guest review
What do the innkeepers do all winter? We spent over ten years searching for our winter getaway and recently found it in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. When the inn is closed for the winter we operate the off-season reservation office from our St. Croix home on a hillside overlooking the blue Caribbean.
If you’ve ever thought about innkeeping or owning an inn, Teri Anderholm can help you find your “INNspiration.” Teri is a licensed real estate agent with Sotheby’s International Realty both in Maine and the US Virgin Islands, specializing in B&B, inn and hospitality properties. Teri combines her passions for real estate investment, historic preservation, and more than a decade of innkeeping experience. We also offer INNspiring seminars and consulting for both aspiring and current innkeepers.
